The Photocell sensor allows the Plant Pro controller to operate based on the presence of natural (sun) light. There are three user selectable operating modes: NATURAL DURATION MODE: The Plant Pro is controlled by sunrise and sunset, and not any internal clock. Any lights you hook up to the Plant Pro will go on and off with the natural light. This is for growers who use only natural light in their garden. FIXED DURATION MODE: This mode turns on the artificial lighting at sunrise and leaves the lights on for a length of time determined by the grower. TOTAL DURATION MODE: The grower controls the total time they want their garden to have light. If the natural light is insuffcient, the artificial light ing will ocme on at sunset to make up for it.
