The Baby Bloomer is the perfect starter system for beginners who want to grow small sized plants. It is an Ebb and Flow hydroponic system 31L x 12W x 12H with easy set up and maintenance. This is a terrific little system. I own two of these now and am about to purchase a third. It is very easy to set up, operate, and maintain. I found that for my family, one system wasn’t enough to give a steady supply of lettuce/greens, which is why I purchased the second. The only people eating salad daily in my family are myself, husband, and 4 year old middle daughter. So, one system wasn’t quite enough to feed two adults + child continuously, but two systems can do it. It is extremely convenient that the plants are potted individually; if you need to remove and replace just one plant it’s very easy to do so. If you buy the complete setup, the timer that comes with it is junky–I’d recommend replacing it with a digital timer. The expanded clay pebbles (LECA) that come with it are reusable and a very nice growing medium. I haven’t used the nutrient that comes with it, since I prefer organic, so I can’t comment on that. I use a 400 Watt Halide light with this, and have had excellent results. I haven’t tried using the bloomer outdoors, but may do so this summer, if I’m brave enough! The only drawback is cost–the initial startup costs are high, but that is true of hydroponics in general, not just this particular setup. For a beginner system, I think it is actually one of the best priced–a great value. Buy now…
